COMPOSITION OF COLLEGE ACADAMIC COMMITTEE

Composition:The College Academic Committee (CAC) shall have a minimum of seven
members, including the Chairman. All other members will be nominated by the Chairman.

The constitution of the CAC will be as follows:
    a) Principal                                                                    -     Chairman
    b) All Heads of the departments                                 –     Members.
    c) Librarian, Library Committee Convener                 -     Members.
    d) Officer-In-Charge Examination Branch                 –     Member.
    e) Administrative Officer (AO)                                    -    Member.
    f) One senior Faculty                                                -     Convener.
    The College Academic Committee meeting shall be convened not less than four times a year
    and the interval between two consecutive meetings should not be more than three months.

Functions of the College Academic Committee (CAC):
 
The College Academic Committee besides being the supreme administrative authority of the College shall have the following additional functions:
  • To promote the overall academic affairs of the Institute.
  • To consider the recommendations of the Staff Selection Committee.
  • To implement transparent examination and evaluation system..
  • To monitor and advice for Industry Institute Interactions
  • To monitor the students’ Performance and faculty development programs.
  • To promote research and extension activities in the college campus.
  • To Introduce the additional infrastructural facilities required to strengthen
    the Departments for the changing needs curriculum revision or introduction of new disciplines.
  • To plan for sustaining the quality of education, quality improvement and accreditation of the college.
  • To consider the important communications, policy decisions received from the University, Government
    AICTE/AFRC/FFC from time to time.
  • To check the audited income and expenditure accounts and approve the same for the college annually.
Roles and Responsibilities of the College Academic Committee (CAC)
 
i. Principal and HOD’s
  • Planning, monitoring and control of the academic system of the Institute concerned.
  • To monitor the lesson plan / Syllabus Coverage / Analyze the student feedback.
  • To monitor student attendance and academic performance.
  • To formulate guidelines for the conduct of examinations in conformity with bye-laws
    of the Institute and the Affiliating University
  • To Assess the faculty workload for various courses.
  • To Review the faculty development programs.
  • To promote research within the institute and acquire reports on such research from
    time to time for further guidance and advice.
  • Review the students practical knowledge with the help of industrial visits.
  • Initiate measures for improvements of standards of teaching, Training and research.
  • Implement policy decisions received from the University, Government, AICTE/PCI, etc.,
    from time to time.
  • To pass the annual budget of the College (including clearance of all University dues).
