The prime responsibility of the Department is to organize the teaching of Engineering Chemistry and applied chemistry for B. Tech. students of all Engineering branches and provide research facilities in the thrust areas of Applied Chemistry and related Engineering disciplines. The Department is very active in teaching, research and administrative activities. The well established Research groups led by the faculty members, offer research facilities in the areas of Environmental chemistry, Water pollution control, Ultrasonic studies in organic compounds, Corrosion control of various metals and alloys, Spectrophotometric analysis of various drugs and pesticides and Synthetic heterocyclic chemistry.
